Hondsdamme

Kerkstraat 32

Since 2011, Hondsdamme art gallery has been a fixture amid the centuries-old ramparts of picturesque Damme. Founder and artist Gerard Van Overmeire of Bruges passed on the torch in 2024.

Hondsdamme is the old name of Damme. It stems from the legend of the devil's hound and from the old word "Honte", meaning a muddy tidal inlet of the Zwin.

Moving to the rhythm of its surroundings, along the Damme Canal and a stone's throw from the coast, Hondsdamme hosts a new artist every fortnight for a relaxed and accessible solo exhibition.
